Creating drafts

SUPERINTENDENT Every change you make to PMS data starts as a draft. Drafts have status='draft' and are visible only to you and the approval queue.

What becomes a draft

  • New components, edits to existing components
  • New job cards, edits to existing job cards
  • Spare-part rows
  • Running-hour readings
  • Schedule reschedules
  • Source-doc evidence attachments to existing components

Editing your own drafts

While a row is status='draft' (yours, never submitted), you can edit and re-edit it freely. No audit trail until submission.

Submitting

Hit Submit for approval. Status flips to pending_approval. The supervisor's queue picks it up. You can no longer edit while pending_approval.

After submission

  • Approved → live in PMS, you receive a messenger thread confirming
  • Rejected → back to draft with the supervisor's reason text. Edit and resubmit.
